The this first of Peckham Soul ‘Sound Maps’ were documenting the rich music history of Peckham, Camberwell, Nunhead and Queens Road. The SE15 recording home of Johnny Clarke and the Mad Professor, the home of early gigs by Joe Strummers 101’s, Elvis Costello and Dr Feelgood, where reggae legends such as Desmond Dekker, I-Roy and Alton Ellis played, and where breaking artists such as King Krule, Anna Calvi and Metronomy cut their performing teeth. This, and many more artists included in a mix which charts which truly demonstrates both the diversity and scope of South East London’s music heritage.
