Jazz vocalist Leon Thomas' final album for Flying Dutchman was recorded when he was a member of Santana. The singer created a modern blend of blues, jazz and soul. A firm favourite of current jazz star Gregory Porter, Thomas is sometimes overlooked. Produced by Bob Thiele, Thomas is backed by an all-star New York band that includes Pretty Purdie, Joe Beck, Richard Davis and James Brown alumnus Pee-Wee Ellis. As well as featuring ambitious covers of Motown songs now associated with Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder, the album features two tracks now popular with a new generation of fans. 'Just In Time To See The Sun' and 'It's My Life I'm Fighting For' have an excitement and groove that has led to their revival by DJs.  Remastered from fresh 24/96 transfers, this is the finest that this album has ever sounded.
