Amazing Soul Funk masterpiece from 1971, produced by the legendary Curtis Mayfield and released on Mayfield's label. Baby Huey's famous vocals "Try to get on up, now!" at the very beginning of "Listen To Me", and "Oooaaah-Hooaahaaah! / Kind of Funky!... Kind of Funky!" with the heavy weight drum breaks were all cleverly used by Double Dee & Steinski on the ‘Lesson 3’ (Tommy Boy, 1985), but also by Blade, Eric B & Rakim and Public Enemy!
